Multifaceted Me: Part II

Kyle moved to Houston the summer of 2013, and we were engaged six months later. 2014 was a whirlwind year as I began my last semester of college while planning a wedding. I graduated in May, married and moved out of my mom’s house in July, and began my first teaching job in August.

TGIF!

As a Monday aficionado, I’ve never been much of a “thank God it’s Friday” fan. In fact, Friday has always seemed to me as the day where I attempt to gather the broken pieces of a tired week. Mondays are fresh; a clean slate; new mercies.

The Comeback

Here I am – with a renewed sense of desire to write. When I think about the stories and habits and words I want to share with you, I think of the roles I wear. I’m a woman, a daughter, a mother, a teacher. I embrace these labels wholeheartedly, and I am empowered by what these roles mean in my life.

One Little Word: Monthly Edition

I attempted to commit to One Little Word a couple of years ago, but I didn’t do much with it. It’s a word I still love – celebrate – but I didn’t understand the concept of carrying a word for an entire year. The idea is attractive; it just felt like too long of a commitment.
