Two weeks ago today, I gave birth to my third baby boy, Mateo!
What I’m Learning –
- My body did an incredible thing growing a human for nearly 40 weeks.
- A third C-section does not mean I’m “used to it.” In fact, it means my body deserves more grace in healing.
- Every. Baby. Is. Different.
- The big brother responsibility is serious and real.
- I can and will carry my baby as much as I want without guilt.
While there’s more, I’m also embracing slowness (vs urgency) and partially done (vs perfection).
Congratulations! It sounds like you’re going easy on yourself. You certainly deserve that. Enjoy your sweet baby and your family.

Congratulations!! As a fellow mother-of-three, all via emergency c-sections (I’m super determined!), I can tell you that yes, unequivocally, you need more grace, time, & stillness as you begin this next part of the journey. Rest and sink into the moments that surround you…I am impressed you found time to write!

What beautiful sentiments shared today. I, too, have had 3 c-sections and found wonderful wisdom in the extra grace needed to heal. Embracing slowness has been one of my goals for travel this year – – to slow down, take the time to enjoy the small moments and the small landmarks instead of the big tourist draws. There is more beauty there, and being able to pause and savor is a true blessing.

I add to the congratulations and also to the “good for you to find time to write!” Mostly I see this as a beautiful love letter to your body, self, and family. And yes, hold that baby Mateo as much as you want ❤

Congratulations! Mazel tov, as some would say! That child is gorgeous and wonderful and PERFECT. I’m so glad and grateful you came up for just a moment of air to share this news, Britt! And your post is a good reminder for new parents – heck, really ANYONE – to show themselves grace and compassion. Just…WONDERFUL.
