Pregnancy News || Nonet

Thanks to Teach Write Camp Counselors, Donnetta and Heather, who encouraged me to practice writing a nonet. I took the opportunity to start processing my third pregnancy (I’m at the halfway mark!).

When I read the word ‘pregnant,’ I cried
because this was not my plan, not
yet, not now. How will we pay
for all the things? How will
our marriage fare with
one more baby to
feed and hold
and love
and

then
I am
reminded
that my village
is willing and able,
that God makes no mistakes
that this child will be so loved.
And that my grief is okay, my
sadness is sacred. I will still rise.

I love the nonet structure and your honesty. It flowed so beautifully. Life is what happens when we are busy making plans…..:)

First of all–congratulations! I love how you structured this poem as it shows the ups and downs of all your emotions. You are right. God makes no mistakes! Enjoy these last months. Your village will be ready for you!

Britt, the photo is stunning and the news is divine, even if it was not expected. I am impressed that you tried out a double nonet. This line is true: “God makes no mistakes”.
Your baby is going to be a blessing so enjoy your remaining time until the blessed event. Then, fill your heart with baby joy.
