SOLSC23: This week in 5-4-3-2-1

FIVE things that made me smile
1. Kyle’s guest blog post yesterday!
2. Two date days with Kyle
3. Pedicure
4. Elías’s random “I love you mommy” declarations
5. Surviving surgery

FOUR words to describe my week
1. Lazy
2. ANXIOUS
3. Sleepy
4. Surgery

THREE plans for the weekend
1. Lament the end of spring break
2. Continue resting from surgery
3. Read and comment on SOLSC posts!

TWO things I learned this week
1. I am reminded that the village comes through in various ways – texts, childcare, soup dropoffs, funny stories, guest writing, well wishes. I’m lucky.
2. I was terrified of dying because I’ve never had to be put under AND because I’d already learned from a previous oral surgeon that one of the three teeth was dangerously wrapped up by a nerve. I learned that…well, I didn’t die. I also learned I did not need to remove that third tooth because it isn’t causing pain or trouble.

ONE goal for the week ahead
1. Commit to a book.

Wonderful format. I’m glad that surgery is behind you. That’s not a fun way to spend your spring break. Have fun committing to a book. I read lots less during March b/c I spend so much time commenting and writing.

Congrats on a successful surgery. I like how you put anxious in all caps as it highlights the intensity of the feeling. What book are you planning on reading?

What a fun format, Britt. You shared so much here. I’m glad you had a spring break, but sorry you had to use some of it to recover from surgery. So glad to hear it went well. Hooray for pedicures!

I like this format (I did a different version of 5-4-3-2-1 yesterday). I wonder if one (or more) of your items will end up be slices on other days.

I love this reflection because it hits so many important points but doesn’t take a lot of time. I’m glad your surgery went well. Soak up these last few days and commit to that book!
